Spiritual Connection: Understanding the dynamics of Guru-disciple relationship

The path of bhakti-yoga, revered as the topmost yoga system, too, values the importance of accepting a guide, commonly referred to as guru in the Vedic tradition. The English word teacher, as used in the modern context, does not fully convey the import of the Sanskrit term guru. Likewise, the word student is not fully congruent with the word shishya, or disciple. Thus the role of a guru, and that of a disciple, and the relationship between them becomes a subject of deep study. As any relationship, the guru-disciple relationship builds upon the foundation of sublime trust, and develops with increased commitment, loyalty and mutual understanding.

From the first page to the last, packed with deep insightful wisdom, passed down through the ages, from luminories who have walked the path. A must read, must have book for anyone even remotely interested in lifting their consciousness from animalistic exsistance to actually living a truly holistic life.
A true Guru’s blessings is worth more than all the treasures of all the worlds and the path to seek that gem is laid out in this book for all to savour.

I have read this book cover to cover more than 3 times cover to cover. This book Spiritual Connection outlines the dynamics of guru-disciple relationship.

This book explains the importance of having a bonafide guru in life, how to find one bonafide guru and how to render service to him (what is the proper consciousness in which we should render seva).

It will prove to be a guiding torch for spiritual seekers in their path to discovering themselves, their connection with spiritual master and their connection with God.

A wonderful book by Bhakti Dhira Damodara Swami which sneaks us to various types of relationships between a guru and disciple.
Various example from the scriptures were given with a for a deep understanding of the dynamics of the relationship with a master and a servant.
I feel like reading the book again and again to gain deeper realization.
A must read book for one who is on a spiritual journey seeking a guru.

This is one of those book which you would like to keep by your side always… to read, re-read and read some more.

Its philosophical but practical and helps one move forward in the search of a Spiritual Master and if already in a relationship helps deepen it.

This books concept grows on you as you continue to apply them and every time I read it seems fresh since it gives out new meanings.

Its a progressive book I would say which supports your progress. All in all a must have!
